New experts announce the remarkable discovery of the 5,000-year-old ancient tomb in Siberia. Inside the grave is the remains of a “bird” wearing an outfit made of 50 mines, thought to be of herons or cranes.
Lilia Kobeleva of Novosibirsk Institute of Archeology and Ethnology (Russia) and colleagues conducted an excavation of a 5,000-year-old ancient tomb containing “bird-man” remains at Ust-Tartas archaeological site , Novosibirsk, Siberia .
According to experts, the “bird” body was buried in an outfit made of 50 animal beaks, thought to be of herons or cranes.
Kobeleva researcher said that dozens of the mines above are located behind the skull, along the neck like a special collar to protect the owner when going to the afterlife. Beaks of herons or cranes are said to be part of ceremonial costumes. Therefore, experts say, “bird man” is likely to be a magician of Odinov culture who lived in Siberia at that time.
The Kobeleva research team said experts will spend months to isolate each mine in the “bird ‘s ” special outfit for thorough research. Due to not carefully analyzing the mines, the experts are curious how they are linked together.
Near the “bird” burial site, experts found a grave containing the remains of two children and an adult man. Specifically, a child dies at about 5 years old and the other dies at 10 years old.
Among the artifacts found, beside the remains of the adult man there is an object that skeptics may be eyeglasses with.
